Willamette Dental Group
We want to let you know about a situation that has transpired with Willamette Dental Group and the impact that this will have on our small group members in Oregon.
Willamette Dental has indicated that they are going to pursue a different approach in the small group business arena. As a result, Willamette Dental has notified us of their intent to terminate all small group business (2-99 employees) with Regence. This termination impacts 8,900 of our Oregon members.
We want to assure you that we are committed to working with our small group customers to provide solutions that will meet their needs, and we’re looking forward to contacting you and discussing alternative options for your clients.
We regret the short-term inconvenience this situation might cause our members, and want to emphasize that both Regence and Willamette Dental are committed to minimizing disruptions to patients and maintaining continuity of care. In the spirit of this commitment, Willamette Dental will honor the dental treatment plans of patients who have initiated treatment for root canals, received preparation and impressions for crowns, bridges, dentures and received orthodontic banding at the time their Regence small group insurance coverage has been terminated. To receive continuation of care, these patients need to keep scheduled appointments and pay their applicable co-payments.
Willamette Dental will honor the renewal of existing small business accounts and the sale of any new small groups with an effective date on or before November 30, 2007. It’s also important to note that Regence will continue to contract with Willamette Dental for individual and large group business.
We look forward to discussing alternative solutions for your clients. In the meantime, please contact your Sales team if you have any questions.
