Initiative underway to share with employer groups our message of transforming health care

Health care touches all of us and is a growing area of interest among all employers, both large and small. It is also the number-one topic researched by individuals on the Web. Employers, unions and associations across our region are asking for educational, data-driven information about health care trends and best practices to help them better understand a complicated health care system. To address this need, we will launch in early March a quarterly communication campaign to employer groups designed to raise awareness about some of the latest health care topics.

As our first topic, we will address Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) with a white paper titled “HSAs Explained—Discussion & Analysis.” An e-newsletter will follow several weeks later to expand on the HSA theme and the ideas presented in the white paper. The third part of the series will be a Webinar in which group administrators and business leaders can interact and converse with other businesses about the information presented.

In subsequent quarters, we will use this same format to share information on topics including cost trends, transparency, workplace wellness, life and disability, EAP, and more.

In addition, as part of our commitment to transform health care, our senior executives will take our message of transformation on the road. Throughout 2008 they will meet with a number of our customers to share insight on what we are doing to control health care costs and some of the innovations we are taking as an employer to support this effort.
