Regence introduces program to serve terming groups and their affiliated agents
5/04/2009
In today’s economy, more of your employer clients are forced to drop their group health care benefits. Regence understands the challenges these decisions mean for employers, their employees and our agent partners.
Employers often want to assist their employees through this transition by making them aware of options. To assist you in your efforts to provide options to your clients who are dropping group coverage, Regence is implementing an outreach program to employers to outline options for their employees. This program is designed to provide our agents with grass roots level service that can maintain some of your commission revenue when a group terminates group coverage.
Beginning immediately, Regence Sales staff will reach out by phone to group administrators who have recently terminated their Regence group health coverage to discuss options for employees, including Regence Individual or short-term medical coverage. Our Individual Sales Executives will work with employees as requested by the group.
Protection of the agents’ revenue is of paramount importance to Regence in these situations. Any retained business, group or individual, will be assigned to the current group Agent of Record when converted to a Regence Individual product or other product eligible for commission (excludes Portability and OMIP). When one of your employer groups requests applications or other support from Regence, you will receive an email message from the Individual Sales, noting that contact.
Regence continues to find creative ways to serve employers, individual and agents during these difficult economic times. If you have questions, please contact your Regence Account Executive.
