Regence Oregon Sales Creates Small Business Renewals Unit

Effective February 1, 2011, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon is implementing a small business unit (SBU) to serve new sales and renewal functions for the 2-50 market segment.    The new SBU will provide dedicated account management and account management support staff for agents and groups.    Now agents and groups can contact a team of experienced sales support staff by calling a single phone line, 1-888-888-3689, for small group quoting, enrolling and renewal needs.  Your Regence Sales and Account Executives’ phone number may have changed.  Please refer to the SBU Team Card below for new contact information.  We can also be reached via email at ORSBU@regence.com.  Please discontinue use of the “team” inboxes for small group related questions beginning February 1, 2011.

Regence has implemented this change after reviewing our business practices in light of a changing market and regulatory environment to identify ways to be effective and efficient while providing personal service.  The new health reform law aligns the small group and Individual markets and both of these segments require attention to processes and details.   Regence has served agents in our Individual market for a number of years in this way.

While this is a change from the current ‘team’ approach, we believe this will provide our agents and groups with service from a larger number of experienced support staff who will work an issue from start to finish.  In addition, with a few exceptions, Sales and Account Executives will continue to support the same agents and groups.
