The Companion Plans
The Companion Plans are available in all Oregon counties
and Clark County, Washington, and may be sold by any
agent with an appointment with Regence BlueCross BlueShield
of Oregon. These plans are designed to meet the needs
of most eligible beneficiaries. Here are some highlights
of each Companion Plan.
- Companion Plan A provides a basic
benefit package, including coverage benefits for hospital
and physician coinsurance, extended hospital days,
and more.
- Companion Plan C, D, E, and G add
more benefits to the basic benefit package, including
coverage for Part A deductible, skilled nursing coinsurance,
and a foreign travel benefit. Depending on the plan
you choose, you may also be able to add one or more
of the following benefits: coverage for Part B deductible,
an at-home recovery benefit, or a preventive
care benefit.
- Companion Plan F is very popular.
It includes basic benefits, skilled nursing coinsurance,
full payment for Part A & B deductibles, and foreign
travel. Round that out with 100% coverage
for Part B excess charges, and you've got
a very comprehensive plan.
- Companion Plan F - High Deductible
is a very economical plan. It provides all the traditional
benefits listed with Companion Plan F, once an annual
deductible is met. This plan is especially attractive
to people who don't want to pay for coverage they
may never use - but who want peace of mind just in
case they use more medical services than expected.
Preferred Choice
Sixty-Five has specific service areas and may be only
be represented by agents with a specific accreditation(s).*
Preferred Choice Sixty-Five
Preferred Choice Sixty-Five is a Medicare "cost"
contract, or unique managed health-care plan, that combines
the cost-savings features of managed care with the flexibility
of Original Medicare. It is available in two plans —
Preferred Choice Sixty-Five Basic and Preferred Choice
Sixty-Five Plus.
Preferred Choice Sixty-Five will not be available in Benton, Clatsop, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Linn or Yamhill counties after January 1, 2008. Individuals are encouraged to consider Regence MedAdvantage, which has been expanded to serve these counties. New enrollment in Preferred Choice Sixty-Five is closed in the counties identified above.
*NOTE: Preferred
Choice Sixty-Five plans require the agent to have a specific
appointment, initial training and yearly retraining.
