There are a variety of BlueCard information sources
available to you:
Provider inquiries: For questions on BlueCard
claims submission, status, or adjustments, or general
information, please call Regence BCBSO's dedicated
BlueCard Customer Service unit in Portland at (503)
225-5393 or 1 (800) 448-0525. You may also contact them securely using our online form.
Member inquiries: If a patient asks you a
BlueCard question you are unable to answer, ask them
to contact their Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plan directly.
Refer them to the front or back of their ID card for
the appropriate Customer Service phone number. To
ensure members' questions are answered promptly, please
do not refer them to the phone numbers listed for
provider inquiries.
Online inquiries: The Blue Cross and Blue
Shield Association offers additional information about
the BlueCard Program. Please visit the BlueCard
Program Web site.
Online workshop: Our BlueCard
Program Workshop is designed to provide you with
an overview of the BlueCard Program. This workshop
contains information relating to alpha prefixes, member
benefits and coverage, claims submission for out-of-area
patients, an explanation of the BlueCard process,
and resources to assist you with issues. For faster
connections, our Flash-enabled
workshop offers added interactivity. For slower
connections (dial-up), our standard
workshop is more appropriate.
Training in your office: Regence
BCBSO provider consultants are available to conduct
free BlueCard® training in your office. You may
request BlueCard training by completing our convenient
online request form. Staff who may benefit from
BlueCard training include those working in administration,
claims, benefits and eligibility.
Administrative Manual - BlueCard
Program section: This section
of the manual includes
information relating to identifying members, determining
eligibility and coverage, and filing claims.
